The mission and vision of the Department of Architecture have been developed in alignment with the mission and vision statements of the university and faculty, which are based on the policies and core values established by Eskişehir Technical University in 2018, when it was granted the status of a “Newly Established University,” with the goal of becoming a “Research University.” These policies encompass quality, education and training, research, community service, governance, internationalization, and gender equality. In this context, the fundamental values of the Department of Architecture are universality, sustainability, sensitivity, creativity, innovation, value creation, social and environmental responsibility, and technical and scientific competence.
The vision of the Department of Architecture is: “To be a contemporary and leading department that is innovative, entrepreneurial, research-oriented, participatory, capable of establishing interdisciplinary collaborations, shaping the future, and making a difference at both national and global levels.”
The mission of the Department of Architecture is: “To educate environmentally conscious professionals and researchers who contribute inclusively and sustainably to the quality of life of society, supported by impact-oriented research and an applied design education approach.”
In the most recent update of the department’s vision, data obtained from the SWOT Workshop held on 03.03.2023, with the participation of students, academic and administrative staff, and stakeholders, were utilized. Through this process, a participatory, interactive, and holistic approach was adopted. The current vision of the department was put into effect by the decision of the Department Board dated 25.05.2023. The mission of the department was determined by the decision of the Department Board dated 30.04.2025.
