The history of the Department of Architecture dates back to 35 years. The department, which was established in the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture within Anadolu University in 1984, was restructured and started education again in 1994 with its refreshed spirit and enthusiasm. The Department of Architecture moved to its new building on the İki Eylül Campus of Anadolu University in October 1999.
The Department of Architecture left the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture with the decision of the Council of Ministers No. 2011/2471 on 14.11.2011 and joined the Faculty of Architecture and Design. Department of Architecture merged into other design disciplines (i.e., Department of Interior Architecture, which has been in the Faculty of Fine Arts since 1991, and the Departments of Industrial Design and Fashion Design, which was established in 1993).
The department still goes on its education activities on the İki Eylül Campus as a part of Eskişehir Technical University, which was established in 2018 (with the decision of No. 7141 published in the Official Newspaper dated May 18, 2018)
